Godrej Consumer Q1 Profit Up 11.5% on Robust Volume Growth

Godrej Consumer Products reported an 11.5% rise in Q1 profit, driven by strong volume growth and steady demand across key markets.

Godrej Consumer Products reported an 11.5% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended June 30, reaching ₹5.05 billion, up from ₹4.52 billion in the same period last year. The growth was underpinned by robust volume expansion and steady demand across its core categories.

Consolidated sales for the quarter climbed 18.6% to ₹42.11 billion, supported by a 9% underlying volume growth. The company, known for brands such as Goodknight mosquito repellents and Cinthol soaps, saw its operating profit margin remain nearly flat at 19%.

Expenses rose 18.6% during the quarter, driven primarily by higher raw material costs. To offset these pressures, the company implemented price increases and expects margins to recover progressively through fiscal 2027 as commodity prices ease.

Geographically, the company's Africa, U.S., and Middle East operations delivered a 47% sales surge. Its Indonesia business, which has faced competitive and demand challenges in recent years, posted a 15% sales increase, aided by higher sales of shampoo and household insecticides.

Godrej Consumer said it remains on track to meet its guidance for the remainder of fiscal 2027. Shares of the company fell 3.2% following the results announcement.
