Golmaal 5 to arrive in cinemas on January 8, 2027, Rohit Shetty announces
Rohit Shetty has announced that Golmaal 5, starring Ajay Devgn and the franchise regulars, will release in theatres on January 8, 2027.
The long-running Golmaal comedy franchise has a date for its next chapter. Director Rohit Shetty announced on Saturday that Golmaal 5 will reach theatres on January 8, 2027, ending months of anticipation among fans of the series.
The announcement was made on social media alongside a teaser for the fifth film. Ajay Devgn leads an ensemble cast that includes Arshad Warsi, Kunal Kemmu, Sharman Joshi, Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor.
In his post, Shetty kept the message simple, writing that the film promises "laughter, fun, joy, happiness and family" and nothing else, with the release date attached. The makers also issued a note describing 2027 as a year set to begin with fun and laughter, and inviting audiences to prepare for the franchise's return under the tagline of a new year with the same madness.
The original Golmaal hit screens in 2006 with Devgn, Warsi, Joshi and Kapoor in the cast, and its popularity led to three further instalments. The fifth film marks the gang's return to cinemas nearly ten years after Golmaal Again was released in 2017.
Akshay Kumar's addition to the fifth instalment was announced by Shetty in March this year. The announcement video showed Devgn, Warsi, Talpade, Kemmu and Kapoor celebrating Joshi's return to the franchise, with Kumar making a surprise appearance.
Details of the storyline remain under wraps. Golmaal 5 is being produced by Rohit Shetty Picturez in association with T-Series.
