
Guest House Owner Hacked to Death After Birthday Party Dispute
A 25-year-old guest house owner was hacked to death by a four-member gang following a verbal dispute at Bommayarpalayam on Sunday night.
A 25-year-old man was killed in a machete attack at Bommayarpalayam near Kottakuppam late Sunday night, following a heated argument that erupted during a birthday celebration nearby.
The deceased has been identified as P. Govindaraj alias Ajith, a resident of Senniamman Kovil Street in Bommayarpalayam. Police said he operated a guest house along the East Coast Road in the locality.
According to preliminary investigations, a birthday party was underway at a volleyball ground adjacent to the guest house when a verbal altercation broke out. The situation escalated when a four-member gang allegedly forced their way into the guest house and attacked Ajith with machetes.
Bleeding profusely, Ajith managed to run out of the premises but collapsed on the road. He was immediately rushed to the Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), where he succumbed to his injuries on Monday morning.
The Kottakuppam police have registered a case and are conducting further inquiries into the incident.
