Gujarat Positions Itself as Global Investment Gateway Ahead of 2027 Summit
Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel invites global investors, touting policy-driven growth, semiconductor leadership, and the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2027.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has described Gujarat as a policy-driven state that has evolved into a global gateway for investors and industries, citing its strong record in ease of doing business. He made the remarks while addressing the curtain-raiser event for the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027 in Gandhinagar, where he extended an open invitation to entrepreneurs and business leaders from India and abroad.
The 11th edition of the summit is scheduled for January 10-12, 2027, under the theme 'Viksit Gujarat: Shaping Global Future.' Patel said the state's industrial planning now looks beyond immediate expansion, focusing instead on long-term economic drivers. "We are asking which sectors will shape the economy of the next 20 years," he noted, adding that the state is aligning its efforts with the Prime Minister's vision of making Gujarat a leader in soft power, with special emphasis on emerging sectors and green growth.
Highlighting recent manufacturing milestones, Patel pointed out that Gujarat hosts six of the 12 semiconductor plants approved across India, three of which are already operational. He also drew attention to Dholera as India's first smart industrial city with plug-and-play facilities, and GIFT City as a key engine for fintech and global finance. He urged investors to connect with opportunities in these hubs and leverage the talent of Gujarat's youth.
Patel also shared insights from a recent high-level delegation visit to the United States and Canada, where global executives expressed keen interest in investing in Gujarat. He announced that the state has introduced sector-specific and holistic industrial policies, including a unique data centre policy, alongside frameworks for semiconductors, IT/ITeS, green hydrogen, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), and shipbuilding and repair. He concluded by calling for collective efforts to realise the vision of 'Viksit Bharat 2047,' urging that every investment become a means of development and every innovation a source of national strength.
