₹70.17 crore land compensation released to 322 farmers for Guntur Channel extension
Compensation of ₹70.17 crore has been fully released to 322 farmers from seven villages who gave up land for the Guntur Channel extension, says Union Minister Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar.
Compensation amounting to ₹70.17 crore has been fully released to farmers who parted with their land for the extension of the Guntur Channel, Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar said in a statement.
The payments cover 322 farmers spread across seven villages — Garapadu, Kondepadu, Yanamadala, Prattipadu, Mallayapalem, Ravipadu and GG Palem.
According to the Minister, 19 Comprehensive Financial Management System (CFMS) bills worth ₹70,17,46,929 relating to the land acquisition compensation were cleared in five instalments. The bills were settled on March 5, May 30, July 27, August 28 and September 28.
Mr. Pemmasani said he had coordinated with the officials concerned to ensure that the entire compensation payable to all 322 farmers was released. He added that the Guntur Channel development works would be taken forward with the cooperation of farmers, and that steps had been taken so that every farmer who gave land receives the compensation due.
The Minister thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav and Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu, along with senior officials of the departments concerned and the district administration, for their cooperation in completing the payments.
