Gurugram Biker Sia Files Complaint Over Alleged Harassment and Hit-and-Run
Biker Sia has complained to Gurugram Police that four allegedly drunk men harassed her and hit her motorcycle on September 13, dragging it about 300 metres before fleeing.
A biker and Instagram creator, Sia, has lodged a complaint with Gurugram Police alleging that she was harassed and struck by a car whose occupants were intoxicated, with her motorcycle dragged for nearly 300 metres before the vehicle sped away.
The complaint states that the incident occurred around 7:00 am on September 13, when Sia was riding towards Biker Barn Cafe accompanied by friends on separate motorcycles. On reaching Golf Course Road, she encountered a white Maruti Suzuki Ciaz bearing registration number HR30L4949.
According to the complaint, four men in the car appeared to be in an inebriated condition and repeatedly tried to harass her and force her motorcycle to stop. Sia alleged that when she overtook them, the car suddenly cut across her path and hit her bike. The impact, she said, dragged her motorcycle for nearly 300 metres before the occupants fled. Her friends attempted to chase the vehicle but were unable to catch it, the complaint added.
Sia's brother said she escaped serious injuries but has since developed severe muscle pulls, widespread body pain and abrasions. He said the initial adrenaline masked the pain, which later intensified, requiring painkillers. The family met officials at Sector 56 police station and submitted a written statement specifying the charges they sought, including harassment, attempted murder and hit-and-run. An FIR has been registered, and Sia's verbal statement is expected to be recorded.
The incident drew widespread outrage after videos surfaced online. Footage shared by Sia, recorded on a camera mounted on her Aprilia RS 457, shows the car colliding with her bike while attempting to overtake, throwing her off and sending her sliding across the road.
Following the backlash, the driver, Kalyan Bainsla, acknowledged that the collision occurred because of him but denied intentionally ramming the motorcycle. He claimed he lost control near a U-turn and drove away out of fear of retaliation from a group of bikers at the spot.
After the video gained traction, Gurugram Police took suo motu cognisance and registered a case against the driver under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 125 (causing injury) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
