Gurugram Police Open Suo Motu Probe Into Golf Course Road Hit-and-Run

Gurugram Police have launched a suo motu enquiry into a hit-and-run on Golf Course Road in which a woman biker was thrown off her motorcycle after a car rammed into her, the vehicle fleeing the scene. The collision, which sent the motorcycle sliding several metres along the road, was recorded on an action camera mounted on the bike, and the rider later posted the footage online, where it has circulated widely.

Gurugram East DCP Sandeep Kumar said the video was being examined to trace both the car driver and the rider. No formal complaint has been received from the rider, he said, adding that the enquiry was initiated on the police's own initiative and a case would be registered on the basis of its findings.

The rider, who identifies herself as Sia and runs the Instagram page 'rebelwheels_sia_', said in the video that the occupants of a white car had been chasing her while she rode her Aprilia RS 457 with members of her biking group. She alleged that the car repeatedly drew close to her motorcycle and that its occupants behaved aggressively. When she signalled to the driver to keep a distance, she said, they instead asked her to stop, and she alleged that the men appeared to be drunk.

Sia said she kept riding to stop the car from blocking her path, while a friend riding behind her tried to shield her and keep the vehicle from pulling alongside. She alleged that the car continued to pursue her before the driver attempted to cut in front of her motorcycle. The vehicle then struck the bike horizontally, throwing her off and sending the motorcycle sliding several metres before it came to a halt. The car sped away without stopping.

After the crash, one of Sia's friends chased the car and confronted the driver when it stopped at a traffic signal. The friend told the driver he had caused the crash, but the driver denied responsibility and drove away, according to her account.

The video identifies the vehicle as bearing registration number 'HR30Y4949'. An e-challan check showed two pending challans against the vehicle, together amounting to ₹2,000 — one issued in February 2023 for a road-marking violation and another in December 2025 for wrong parking.

Sia has urged the Gurugram Police to act against the driver, alleging that the incident endangered her life and that he fled after the crash. "I have nothing to say, but today I felt unsafe on Gurugram roads. People like these aren't afraid of hitting people and running away," she said, demanding action.

The footage has prompted several social media users to tag the Gurugram Police, Gurugram Traffic Police and Haryana Police, seeking action against the driver.
