Gurugram Police Arrest Thar Driver in Dwarka Expressway Hit-and-Run

Gurugram Police have arrested the man accused of driving the black Thar Roxx that struck a motorcycle on the Dwarka Expressway and sped away, an incident that drew widespread attention after dashcam footage from a vehicle behind the SUV circulated online.

The accused has been identified as Manmeet, a resident of Mundhal Khurd in Haryana's Bhiwani district. He was taken into custody on Tuesday by police from the Sector 93 station.

The crash occurred after 8 pm on September 26. According to police, the speeding SUV entered the service lane of the expressway from the left and tried to cut across several lanes at once. It then squeezed through a narrow gap between a car and the motorcycle, hitting the two-wheeler before driving on without stopping.

The motorcyclist, Rajesh Kumar, and the pillion rider, Dinesh, were thrown off the bike and sustained minor injuries. Both were wearing helmets at the time.

After the footage went viral, police identified the vehicle and its driver and registered a case at the Sector 10A police station under Sections 281 and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The black Thar Roxx was recovered earlier from a service station in Sector 93 and has been taken into custody.

Statements from both the rider and the pillion rider have been recorded. Police said the investigation is ongoing and further action will follow based on what the probe uncovers.
