Guruvayur Overflows With Devotion as Thousands Mark Ashtami Rohini

Thousands of devotees gathered at Guruvayur Sreekrishna Temple for Ashtami Rohini, marking Krishna's birth with darshan, prasadam, and long queues.

Guruvayur witnessed an overwhelming surge of devotion on Ashtami Rohini, the annual celebration of Lord Krishna's birth, as thousands of pilgrims converged at the Sreekrishna Temple for darshan and ritual observances.

The influx began well before sunrise, with hundreds of devotees queuing from Thursday night itself to secure a place for the first Nirmalya Darshan when the sanctum opened. As the day progressed, the crowd swelled continuously, and by morning the general queue extended beyond the East Nada, reaching the special pandal at the Kausthubham complex.

Temple authorities had restricted special darshan arrangements, which allowed those in the general queue to move more smoothly. To ease the wait, volunteers distributed drinking water and slices of watermelon among the devotees standing in the long lines.

A significant number of pilgrims also participated in the special Ashtami Rohini Prasada Oottu, a community feast organised at the Sree Guruvayurappan auditorium, adding to the festive spirit of the day.
