Harish Rao challenges Congress leaders to night visit over farm power supply
BRS leader T. Harish Rao alleged farmers are not getting 12-hour power supply and questioned missing log books at a sub-station, challenging Congress leaders to a night visit.
Senior BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao has disputed the government's claims of round-the-clock power supply, alleging that farmers are not receiving even 12 hours of uninterrupted electricity a day.
Mr. Rao made the allegation during an unannounced visit to the Motakondur sub-station in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district on Sunday. At the sub-station, he questioned why log books used to record supply timings were not being maintained.
He claimed that staff at the facility had concealed the log book on the instructions of ruling party leaders, who he said feared it would expose the actual position of power supply to the agricultural sector.
The BRS leader invited Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy and Alair MLA Beerla Ilaiah to visit any sub-station at night for a debate on farm sector power supply. He also asked why Congress leaders, who had repeatedly raised the issue of log books while in Opposition, were now silent on the matter.
Mr. Rao further criticised the Congress government for what he described as diversionary politics by discussing his family's properties. He said all his assets had been disclosed in his 2018 and 2023 election affidavits and in his income tax returns.
