Hasanamba Temple in Hassan to Open for Annual Festival from October 29
The Hasanamba Temple in Hassan will open for its annual festival from October 29 to November 11, with darshan for devotees starting October 30 and daily VIP hours fixed from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
The historic Hasanamba Temple in Hassan will open to the public for its annual festival from October 29 to November 11, with the district administration having begun preparations for the event.
The temple opens only once a year, drawing lakhs of devotees from across Karnataka and beyond for darshan during this period.
Excise Minister K.M. Shivalinge Gowda, who holds additional charge of Hassan district, briefed reporters on Saturday about the arrangements being put in place. He said the temple doors would open at 12 noon on October 29. The first day will be reserved for rituals performed by designated priests, and devotees will not be permitted inside. Regular darshan will begin on October 30.
For VIP visitors, the administration has fixed a daily window from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Those seeking VIP darshan must inform the district administration in advance so that officials can make the necessary arrangements.
The Minister said that, with the exception of the Governor, the Chief Minister, former Prime Ministers, the Deputy Chief Minister, the Chairman of the Legislative Council, the Speaker, the Home Minister and the Chief Justice, all other visitors will have to reach the temple in vehicles arranged by the district administration.
Prominent streets will be illuminated for the festival, and the police will make arrangements to ensure that the event passes off smoothly. MLA H.P. Swaroop, Deputy Commissioner K.S. Lathakumari, Superintendent of Police Shubhanwita and other officials were present at the press conference.
