Coroner Rules Hayden Panettiere's Death Accidental, Citing Multiple Drugs

A coroner has ruled that the death of actor Hayden Panettiere was an accident, attributing it to a combination of drugs.

The classification was announced in Santa Monica, California, on 17 January 2016.

Panettiere was a familiar presence on red carpets over more than a decade. She attended the Critics' Choice Awards, the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards, the Golden Globes and the Billboard Music Awards, among other events, and was photographed at the Victoria's Secret fashion show at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.

She also appeared at the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards and at a Netflix 'Band from TV' concert in Los Angeles, and took part in announcing Golden Globe nominees.

Reflecting on her role in the series 'Heroes', she said the show's appeal lay in its blend of genres. "I think Heroes is really hot because it's just a really great combination of everything that people love -- they love reality, they love sci-fi and things like X-Men where they get to dream of something bigger," she said. "And at the core of it are these human stories that people can relate to, very rugged. And it's just grabbed everyone in every age group."
