HBO's Harry Potter series adds Dobby, Ginny and Tom Riddle for Season 2

HBO has confirmed three new additions to the cast of its upcoming Harry Potter television series as production gears up for a second season. Lenny Rush will voice the house-elf Dobby, Bonnie Hill takes on the role of Ginny Weasley, and Billy Barratt is set to portray a young Tom Riddle.

Hill steps into a part previously held by Gracie Cochrane, who appeared as Ginny in the first season but departed the project due to unforeseen circumstances.

The first season of the series has already completed filming and is scheduled to premiere on HBO on December 25. Work on the second season is currently underway at Leavesden Studios near London, with the storyline adapting the second novel in J.K. Rowling's series, 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.'

The show follows Harry Potter, who learns of his magical heritage after receiving an acceptance letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he uncovers dark secrets while forging friendships.

Dominic McLaughlin leads the cast as Harry, with Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. The wider ensemble includes John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom and Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy.

Francesca Gardiner is the writer and executive producer, with Mark Mylod also executive producing and directing several episodes. The production is a collaboration between HBO, Bronte Film and TV, and Warner Bros. Television, with Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts and David Heyman serving as executive producers.
