Himachal Mandates Three-Time Daily Attendance in 150 CBSE Schools
Himachal Pradesh will record attendance thrice daily in 150 CBSE government schools, with new teacher appointments and Rs 80 crore for facilities.
The Himachal Pradesh government has directed that attendance be recorded three times each day in 150 CBSE-affiliated government schools across the state. The order, issued by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu during a meeting with the Education Department, is intended to keep a closer watch on the presence of both students and teachers and to ensure schools operate smoothly.
Under the new arrangement, attendance will be marked at three points during the school day: on arrival in the morning, during the lunch break, and at the time of departure. The Education Department has been instructed to put the system into effect.
The Chief Minister also noted that around 1,200 teachers have already been appointed in these CBSE schools, with further recruitment planned in the coming months. The government said its focus is on delivering quality education closer to students' homes, particularly for children in rural areas.
In a related move, the state will provide an additional Rs 80 crore to upgrade these schools and strengthen facilities for students and teachers. Sukhu directed officials to ensure proper implementation of the new attendance rules and continued improvement in school infrastructure and daily functioning.
The meeting was attended by Education Minister Rohit Thakur, Advocate General Anup Rattan, Education Secretary Rakesh Kanwar, and other senior department officials.
