House of David Begins Final Season Shoot in Greece
Production on the third and final season of House of David has begun in Greece, with the cast and creators reflecting on the show's conclusion.
Production has commenced on the third season of the biblical drama House of David, which will serve as the series' final chapter. The announcement was made by Wonder Project and Amazon MGM Studios, with filming currently taking place in Greece.
The renewal for a third season had been revealed in July, though at the time it was not confirmed to be the show's last. The creators had long envisioned the story as a three-season arc.
Executive producers Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn expressed their gratitude at returning to Greece with the cast and crew. In a statement, they noted that the third season brings the trilogy to its conclusion, covering the portion of David's life they had intended to tell from the outset. They added that they are honoured to complete the journey with their partners at Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, and hope audiences will appreciate how far David has come by the time he reaches the throne.
The series stars Michael Iskander as David, alongside Ali Suliman as King Saul and Ayelet Zurer as Queen Ahinoam. Iskander said that playing David has changed his life in ways he could not have anticipated, and that he has grown alongside the character. He described exploring David's courage, flaws, ambition and the weight of his choices as an extraordinary experience, and said knowing this is the final season makes every moment more significant. He expressed gratitude for being entrusted with the role and eagerness for audiences to see where the story goes in its final chapter.
The official logline for Season 3 states that David's transformation from outcast shepherd to fierce warrior to chosen King is finally complete, but before the throne there is exile. David is a hunted outlaw, forced to hide among his enemies and live another dangerous lie. This chapter explores the true cost of destiny — the betrayals endured, the identities shed, and the sacrifices demanded of a hero before he can rise to the throne.
The cast also includes Indy Lewis, Yali Topol Margalith, Ethan Kai, Sam Otto, Oded Fehr, Louis Ferreira, Davood Ghadami, Aury Alby and Alexander Uloom.
