Houthi Drone and Missile Attack on Yemen's Mocha Kills 7, Wounds 30
A Houthi attack on Mocha, Yemen, killed seven and wounded 30, including civilians and military personnel, the Yemeni military said.
A coordinated Houthi assault on the Red Sea port city of Mocha has left seven people dead and 30 others wounded, according to the Yemeni military. The attack, which involved both ballistic missiles and drones, struck residential neighbourhoods as well as civilian infrastructure and armed forces positions.
In a statement released early Monday, the military confirmed that the casualties included four members of the armed forces and three civilians. The statement also noted that air defences successfully intercepted and shot down 11 of the drones involved in the attack.
Footage broadcast by the Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah TV showed the launch of several missiles and drones. In a separate post on Telegram, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree claimed the strikes were aimed at Saudi troop concentrations and weapons depots.
The attack marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict, with the port city of Mocha now directly affected by the violence. The Yemeni military's statement did not provide further details on the extent of damage to civilian infrastructure.
