Houthis Claim Large-Scale Operation Against Saudi Air Base

Yemen's Houthi rebels claimed a large-scale operation against Saudi military facilities at King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushait.

Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels said on Monday that their forces had carried out what they described as a "large-scale, qualitative military operation" against military facilities in Saudi Arabia.

The group's military spokesman, Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree, said the operation targeted King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushait. In a statement carried by the Houthi media office, he listed aircraft hangars, radar installations, runways and ammunition depots among the sites said to have been struck.

No evidence or further operational details were provided to support the claim, and there was no immediate independent confirmation of the alleged attack.

Saree also signalled that the group intends to sustain its campaign, saying its forces would continue operations deep inside Saudi territory for as long as what he called the unjust aggression against the Yemeni people continues. Any fresh aggression, he warned, would be answered with broader and more intense operations.

The claim is the latest in a series of announcements by the rebel movement, which has repeatedly said it has struck targets inside the kingdom. Such statements could not be independently verified.
