Telangana Medical Council flags unqualified practitioners at Hyderabad clinics
TGMC inspections across Hyderabad found multiple clinics where unqualified or unregistered individuals were treating patients and prescribing allopathic medicines.
Surprise inspections by the Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) on Sunday, September 13, brought several Hyderabad clinics under scrutiny after individuals without the necessary medical qualifications or statutory registrations were found treating patients and prescribing allopathic medicines.
The inspections were conducted by TGMC members Dr. G. Srinivas, Dr. V. Naresh Kumar and Dr. K.U.N. Vishnu.
At Shifa Clinic in Golconda, M. Shabbir Hussain, who holds a BUMS qualification, was allegedly providing allopathic treatment to both paediatric and adult patients without the required registration.
At Health Care Clinic in Rajendranagar, two persons were found treating patients without the requisite medical qualifications. One, identified as Farooq, stated he had completed Intermediate, while the other, Gazala, holds a BUMS qualification.
Similar violations were flagged at Sai Ganesh First Aid Centre, where Ch. Narayana was providing medical services without the necessary qualifications, and at Mother First Aid Centre, where Dileep was doing the same. At Sai Clinic, Rajasekhar was allegedly practising medicine in the name of B. V. Ramanath without the required registrations.
The council also raised concerns about the credentials and surgical practice of a doctor at Shreya Hospital in Serilingampally. Dr. P. Sharath Babu, who holds an MBBS degree, was presenting himself as an MS Orthopaedic and performing orthopaedic procedures, including joint replacement surgeries.
At Bhaskar Clinic, Bhaskar, a BA degree holder, was operating a clinic in the name of Dr. Anita and providing medical services.
The council said further investigation is underway.
