Hyderabad ahead of target on 100 new GCCs, says Revanth Reddy

Telangana is running ahead of its own timetable in the effort to draw 100 new Global Capability Centres (GCCs) to Hyderabad this year, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has said, pointing to a widening set of multinational operations being set up in the city.

In a social media post on Monday, Reddy said the past two years had seen several global firms establish major operational bases in Hyderabad across a range of sectors. He attributed the shift to what he described as purposeful governance and decisive execution by his administration.

Among the companies he named as expanding their presence were the entertainment firms Netflix and Warner Bros. Discovery, beauty major L'Oréal, healthcare companies Amgen and Eli Lilly, and consumer goods giant Unilever.

The government has been working to position Hyderabad as a leading destination for GCCs, with a focus on technology, life sciences, healthcare, entertainment and other knowledge-intensive industries.

In February, it announced plans for a dedicated GCC zone at Bharat Future City, aimed at housing global innovation centres in the biosciences sector.

The State is also looking to spread GCC activity beyond Hyderabad's core urban belt. Officials have been asked to draft a comprehensive GCC policy and to identify growth clusters along the Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Warangal corridors.
