VP Radhakrishnan to Grace Hyderabad Liberation Day Event at Secunderabad

Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan will be the chief guest at the Hyderabad Liberation Day ceremony scheduled for September 17 at the Secunderabad Parade Ground. The event will commemorate the integration of the erstwhile Hyderabad State with India and honour those whose efforts contributed to the country's unity.

Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Malkajgiri MP Etala Rajender, Culture Secretary Vivek Aggarwal, CRPF Director General Gyanendra Pratap Singh and CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan are among the dignitaries expected to attend.

Ten contingents of the Central Armed Police Forces will take part in a march-past, which the Vice President will inspect. A cultural presentation titled "Hyderabad Vimochanam" will be staged, and winners of a quiz competition held at the Salar Jung Museum will be felicitated. The programme will conclude with a collective rendition of "Vande Mataram."

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has set up an exhibition at the venue, inaugurated today by former Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya. It highlights historical episodes linked to Hyderabad Liberation Day as well as themes of national unity and integrity. Thousands of school students visited the exhibition on its opening day.
