IIM-Kozhikode climbs to 54th in FT Masters in Management rankings
IIM-Kozhikode rose from 69th to 54th in the Financial Times Masters in Management rankings 2026, aided by improvements in sustainability teaching and career services.
The Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode has moved up 15 places in the Financial Times Masters in Management rankings for 2026, climbing from 69th globally last year to 54th. The jump places the institute's flagship postgraduate programme among the world's top 55 management programmes.
The ranking reflects gains across several parameters, including sustainability, career development, and diversity and inclusion. IIM-Kozhikode recorded a 14-place improvement in the ESG and Net Zero Teaching category, rising from 66th in 2025 to 52nd in 2026.
The institute performed particularly well in career services, where it ranked 23rd globally — well ahead of its overall position. It also continued to show strong gender diversity, with women making up 55 per cent of its student cohort. That share places IIM-Kozhikode at roughly 14th globally for female student representation and first among the Indian institutions featured in the 2026 rankings.
Director Debashis Chatterjee said the move to 54th was a significant step in the institute's global journey, adding that rankings matter only when they reflect student growth, career aspirations, classroom diversity and a commitment to sustainability. He described the progress in ESG and Net Zero Teaching, career services and gender diversity as particularly encouraging.
Chatterjee said that as IIM-Kozhikode moves closer to the global top 50, its aim is to build an institution that is globally benchmarked, rooted in Indian thought and focused on preparing leaders for a changing world.
