IIT Delhi Opens Admissions for Online PG Diploma in VLSI Design

IIT Delhi has announced a 12-month online Post Graduate Diploma in Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) Design, aimed at students and working professionals who want to build expertise in designing complex integrated circuits. Such circuits underpin smartphones, computers, medical devices and automotive systems, and the programme is positioned against a growing demand for skilled VLSI design professionals as the field moves towards higher performance, lower power consumption and smaller form factors.

Applications are open until October 9, 2026, and the fee to apply is Rs 1,180. Graduates, postgraduates and working professionals holding a B.E. or B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering, or an M.Sc. in Physics or Electronics, are eligible.

Classes will run entirely online on weekends, from 10 am to 12:30 pm and 2 pm to 5:30 pm, starting January 31, 2027 and concluding January 30, 2028. The programme spans two semesters and nine courses, carrying a total of 30 credits. The first semester covers fundamental circuit analysis, digital economics, analog circuit design, MOS VLSI and mini projects, while the second comprises advanced analog design, mixed signal circuit design, an IEC lab and a major project.

Professor Mukul Sarkar and Professor Ankesh Jain will coordinate the programme, with sessions delivered by IIT Delhi faculty and industry experts. Participants will also have the option of a two-day visit to the IIT Delhi campus, and certificates will be awarded on completion. The total programme fee is Rs 3,50,000, with flexible payment options available.
