IIT Kharagpur Extends JAM 2027 Registration Deadline to October 19
IIT Kharagpur has extended JAM 2027 registration until October 19, 2026. The exam, on February 14, 2027, covers seven papers for 89 PG programmes.
Candidates yet to apply for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2027 have been given more time, with IIT Kharagpur extending the registration deadline to October 19, 2026. Applications can be submitted through the JAM Online Application Processing System.
IIT Kharagpur is organising the exam, which will be conducted in computer-based mode on February 14, 2027. Scores will be used for admission to postgraduate programmes at the Indian Institutes of Technology and other participating institutes.
All 23 IITs will offer admission to 89 postgraduate programmes through JAM 2027 for the 2027-28 academic session. The exam opens doors to Master of Science, Master of Science-PhD, Master of Science-Master of Technology, Joint Master of Science-PhD, PhD dual degree and Integrated PhD programmes.
Exam pattern
The test will be held in two sessions and will feature seven papers. Candidates may appear for a maximum of two papers. Question papers will carry Multiple Choice Questions, Multiple Select Questions and Numerical Answer Type questions. The exam will be conducted in around 114 cities across India, with no international centres.
Application fee
General and Other Backward Classes candidates will pay Rs 2,000 for one paper and Rs 2,700 for two. Female candidates and those from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Persons with Disabilities categories will pay Rs 1,000 for one paper and Rs 1,350 for two.
Eligibility and schedule
Applicants who have completed their undergraduate degree, or will appear for their final undergraduate examination in 2027, can take the test, subject to the admission requirements of the respective institute. There is no age limit and no cap on the number of attempts.
A correction window for registered candidates will open on November 10. Results are scheduled to be announced on March 18, 2027. Detailed information on eligibility, admission requirements and the application process is available on the official JAM website.
