IIT JAM 2027 Registration Opens September 12; Exam on February 14

IIT Kharagpur opens IIT JAM 2027 registration on September 12, 2026, with applications accepted until October 12. The exam is scheduled for February 14, 2027.

The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur will open the registration window for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2027 on September 12, 2026. Candidates can apply through the official portal at jam.iitkgp.ac.in once the link is activated.

The exam acts as a gateway to postgraduate programmes in science and related fields at leading institutes across the country. Applications will be accepted until October 12, 2026, and no submissions will be entertained after the deadline.

Who can apply

Candidates who have completed their undergraduate degree, or who are appearing for the final examination of their qualifying degree in 2027, are eligible to register.

Exam schedule

IIT JAM 2027 will be held on February 14, 2027, across two sessions. The forenoon session will run from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, while the afternoon session is scheduled from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

How to apply

  1. Visit jam.iitkgp.ac.in.
  2. Click the JOAPS portal link on the homepage.
  3. Register with your name, a valid email address, mobile number and password.
  4. An Enrolment ID and OTP will be sent to the registered email address and mobile number.
  5. Log in with the Enrolment ID and complete the application form.
  6. Upload the required documents, including a photograph and signature.
  7. Pay the applicable application fee.
  8. Download and save the submitted form for future reference.

Application fees

For one test paper, female, SC, ST and PwD candidates pay Rs 1,000, while all other candidates pay Rs 2,000. For two test papers, the fee is Rs 1,350 for female, SC, ST and PwD candidates, and Rs 2,700 for all others.

Payment can be made through net banking, debit card, credit card, UPI and wallets. The fee is neither refundable nor transferable, and a submitted application cannot be cancelled.
