IMA Haryana calls off Ayushman Bharat suspension after CM assurance
IMA Haryana withdrew its planned indefinite suspension of Ayushman Bharat services after the Chief Minister promised to address issues raised by empanelled private hospitals.
The Haryana unit of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has withdrawn its call for an indefinite suspension of Ayushman Bharat services, which was to begin on September 16, after Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini assured a delegation that the concerns of empanelled private hospitals would be examined.
The decision follows a 24-hour suspension of services to scheme beneficiaries by private hospitals across the State on September 1. The hospitals had flagged outstanding payments of about ₹1,200 crore along with other operational difficulties.
An IMA Haryana delegation met the Chief Minister and State BJP president Archana Gupta on Monday, raising a range of issues, including what the association described as mismanagement in the scheme's implementation. According to the association, the Chief Minister stated that steps would be taken to bring down the pendency of payments.
The association said it intends to work in close coordination with the State Health Agency and the Haryana Health Protection Authority to resolve implementation problems and ensure that beneficiaries continue to receive care.
With the assurance in hand, the planned indefinite suspension has been called off, though the underlying issues around dues and scheme administration remain on the table for further discussion.
