India Post GDS Recruitment 2026: Applications Open Till September 21

India Post is currently accepting applications for its Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) recruitment drive for 2026. Interested candidates can submit their forms through the official portal at indiapost.gov.in/gdsonlineengagement until September 21, 2026.

The recruitment covers positions such as Branch Postmaster (BPM) and Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM).

One-time registration

Before filling out the main application, candidates must complete the online one-time registration (OTR) process. The OTR link is available on the main portal and will remain open until September 19, 2026. Those who have already completed OTR can proceed directly to the application form.

Application fee

An application fee of Rs 100 is required to complete the process. Female candidates, SC/ST candidates, PwBD candidates, and Transwomen candidates are exempted from paying the fee.

Correction window

Applicants who make errors in their forms will get a chance to rectify them after registration closes. The application correction window will operate from September 23 to September 24, 2026, until 5 PM.

Eligibility criteria

Age limit: The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum is 40 years, calculated as of the last date for application submission.

Educational qualification: Candidates must have passed Class 10 from a recognised board with Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects. They must also have studied the local language up to Class 10.

Other requirements: Applicants must possess adequate knowledge of computers, know how to ride a bicycle, and have adequate means of livelihood.

There will be no relaxation in the upper age limit for EWS applicants. However, persons belonging to EWS who are not covered under the reservation scheme for SC, ST, and OBC categories will be eligible for 10% reservation in engagement to GDS posts.
