India Flags Anomalies in New UN World Map Over Arunachal, Aksai Chin

India has formally raised objections over what it terms as anomalies in a newly circulated United Nations world map. The issue pertains to the depiction of Arunachal Pradesh and Aksai Chin, which the map shows as distinct regions lying between unspecified Indian and Chinese claim lines.

The map in question was used extensively during discussions at the UN General Assembly on the India-backed 'Correct the Map' resolution. The resolution, which New Delhi has been championing, seeks to address cartographic inaccuracies in international representations of Indian territory.

According to official sources, the matter has been taken up with the concerned persons at the UN. The Indian side has pointed out that the map's portrayal of these regions does not align with India's official position on its territorial boundaries.

Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India, and Aksai Chin is part of the union territory of Ladakh. The Indian government has consistently maintained that any map suggesting otherwise is factually incorrect and legally untenable.
