IndiGo Goa-Delhi Flight Returns After Engine Malfunction Mid-Air

An IndiGo flight bound for Delhi from Goa was forced to turn back on Tuesday morning after one of its engines malfunctioned shortly after departure. The aircraft, operating as flight 6E 2102, took off from Manohar International Airport at 9:15 am, five minutes behind schedule, before pilots detected the technical problem.

Sources said a full emergency was declared for a short period as the crew initiated a return to the airport. The plane landed safely, and the airline confirmed that standard operating procedures were followed, with relevant authorities informed of the situation.

In an official statement, IndiGo said the aircraft is now undergoing maintenance checks and will resume operations only after receiving all necessary clearances. The airline added that it made alternative travel arrangements for passengers and provided refreshments and regular updates to minimise inconvenience.

The incident comes a day after an Air India Express flight from Dammam to Delhi made an emergency landing in Ahmedabad following a bomb threat. A cabin crew member discovered a tissue paper with the word "BOMB" written on it in the lavatory. All 32 passengers were evacuated safely, and no injuries were reported.
