IndiGo Ventures Invests in Sarvam AI's Series B Round

IndiGo Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of the airline IndiGo, has participated in the Series B funding round of Sarvam AI, a full-stack sovereign artificial intelligence company. The investment extends an existing relationship between the two firms, which had previously worked together on deploying AI technologies to improve passenger experience, support airline staff, and streamline operational workflows across IndiGo's network.

Given the aviation sector's high customer volumes, time-critical processes, and geographically dispersed workforce, the fresh capital is intended to accelerate IndiGo's internal technology adoption. The carrier aims to pair its operational scale with Sarvam's AI stack, which includes voice and agentic systems, to boost operational efficiency.

Neetan Chopra, Chief Digital and Information Officer at IndiGo, said AI is becoming a foundational capability for aviation, reshaping customer experience, workforce productivity, and operational decision-making. He noted that the partnership provides IndiGo access to cutting-edge AI capabilities built in India and tailored to local market needs. Chopra added that combining these technologies with the carrier's operational expertise and scale would accelerate innovation while maximising value for customers, employees, and stakeholders.

Sarvam develops enterprise AI products, along with native training and inference infrastructure and frontier models. Its technology portfolio spans voice, text, computer vision, and document processing systems designed for high-volume enterprise deployments.

Pratyush Kumar, Co-founder of Sarvam, described aviation as a powerful setting for enterprise AI due to its combination of millions of customer interactions with complex, time-sensitive operations. He emphasised that practical deployment requires deep sector knowledge, which IndiGo brings through its domain depth and scale. Kumar said the collaboration aims to develop systems that are useful in production and build a stronger template for enterprise AI in India.

The partnership is designed to link Sarvam's AI models and agentic infrastructure directly to live airline operations, establishing an automated technical base suited for high-capacity aviation management.
