IRGC says Iran retains control of Strait of Hormuz, shifts to proactive strategy
Iran's IRGC says it still controls the Strait of Hormuz and is moving to a proactive posture, while the US rules out talks.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Intelligence Organization said on Thursday that the country continues to exercise control over the strategic Strait of Hormuz, and has shifted from a defensive posture to a more proactive strategic approach.
The statement said Iran has moved beyond merely surviving external threats, and is now focused on strengthening national resilience and asymmetric combat capabilities. It also claimed that intelligence agencies of the United States, Israel, and other nations have acknowledged the failure of their military strikes against Iran.
According to the IRGC, adversaries are now recalibrating their tactics, turning to cognitive warfare, psychological operations, financial market destabilisation, and security operations aimed at undermining Iran's internal cohesion and regional influence. In response, the IRGC said it is enhancing combat readiness and reinforcing counter-infiltration and counter-terrorism operations.
On the same day, the White House confirmed that no negotiations are currently underway between Washington and Tehran. The US reiterated its intention to continue using all available economic measures to pressure Iran, while keeping all other options on the table.
