Iran's Revolutionary Guard Says US Must Withdraw from Region
Iran's Revolutionary Guard spokesperson says the US has no choice but to leave the region, warning of new weapons if the conflict changes form.
A spokesperson for Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said the United States has no choice but to accept defeat and pull its forces out of the region, predicting that the war will end on that basis.
Speaking in Tehran, Gen. Hossein Mohebbi said Washington "has no option but to acknowledge defeat and withdraw from the region," adding that the conflict "will certainly end with that outcome."
He also warned that any shift in the nature of the fighting would be met with an expanded arsenal. "If the conflict takes on a new form, we will undoubtedly bring new weapons into the field as well," he said.
On the pressure facing Iran, Mohebbi dismissed the prospect of a full economic cut-off. "This blockade is certainly not feasible," he said, arguing that the United States "can never cut off our dealings with our neighboring countries." While Washington might impose some restrictions, he said, it cannot completely halt those ties.
The remarks were released with access restrictions attached, barring Israeli media and several Persian-language outlets based outside Iran from using the material.
