Jordan's military stated that its air defense systems successfully intercepted 18 ballistic missiles aimed at its territory. Two additional missiles landed in uninhabited areas. No casualties have been reported.
Jordan, a staunch US ally that hosts American forces, has seen its military bases become repeated targets in this conflict. The latest exchange marks another significant escalation in a war that has now persisted for over six months, pushing the involved parties back toward open hostilities.
