Israel to Investigate Two Gaza Attacks That Killed Civilians and Medics

Israel's military will criminally investigate two Gaza attacks, including the killing of a 5-year-old and 15 paramedics, but not three incidents involving aid workers.

Israel's military announced on Wednesday that it would open criminal investigations into two separate attacks in Gaza that resulted in the deaths of Palestinian civilians and medical personnel. The decisions follow an internal review of 150 incidents involving troop conduct during the ongoing conflict.

The first probe concerns the killing of 5-year-old Hind Rajab and her family. The second investigation will look into the deaths of 15 Palestinian paramedics. Both cases have drawn significant public attention and calls for accountability.

However, the military said it would not pursue criminal investigations into three other attacks that killed aid workers from World Central Kitchen and Doctors Without Borders. The military did not provide further details on why those cases were excluded from criminal review.

The announcement was made in a statement released Wednesday, which said the military had completed its examination of the 150 incidents and had reached decisions on five specific cases. The statement did not specify the timeline for the new investigations or their potential outcomes.
