Israeli Airstrikes Hit Gaza City Building and Nuseirat School, Killing One
Israeli airstrikes in Gaza on Monday killed a woman in Gaza City and critically injured a person at a school in Nuseirat refugee camp, as the death toll since the ceasefire neared 1,400.
Israeli airstrikes struck two locations in the Gaza Strip on Monday, killing at least one person and injuring several others, according to hospital officials.
In Gaza City, an airstrike hit the rooftop of a building, killing a woman who lived there and wounding her husband, Shifa Hospital confirmed. Other injured people were receiving treatment at the hospital and were reported to be in critical condition. The Israeli military confirmed the strike.
Later on Monday, a second airstrike targeted a school in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, leaving one person critically injured, according to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. The Israeli military said it had targeted a "military operative" but did not immediately provide further details.
More than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed since the Gaza ceasefire took effect nearly a year ago. Around half of those killed are women and children, according to Gaza's Health Ministry, which maintains detailed records that international organizations consider reliable.
