Israeli Strikes Hit Gaza Homes, Injuring Nine and Displacing Families

Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip on Wednesday injured at least nine people and levelled residential buildings in several areas, witnesses and medical officials said.

In the southern city of Khan Younis, evacuation orders were issued in the afternoon shortly before a strike reduced a multi-storey house to rubble. Residents were seen sifting through debris, salvaging wooden beams and broken furniture. One woman, Tamam Abu Hatab, described how her brother's pregnant wife — expecting twins within days — lost everything, including clothes prepared for the newborns. "The house that sheltered them is gone," she said, appealing for international help.

In the central Gaza Strip, Awda Hospital reported receiving nine injured people after a strike hit a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp. The Israeli military confirmed it carried out operations in Nuseirat, the Daraj Tuffah neighbourhood of Gaza City, and the Shati refugee camp.

Video footage showed children standing behind a metal barrier watching rescue efforts, as smoke rose from the destroyed structures. No further casualty figures were immediately available.
