ISRO Opens Applications for 175 Scientist/Engineer SC Posts

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has announced a recruitment drive for Scientist/Engineer 'SC' positions, inviting online applications for a total of 175 vacancies. The hiring process will be managed by the ISRO Centralised Recruitment Board (ICRB) and covers roles in Electronics, Mechanical, and Computer Science disciplines.

Positions are available across various ISRO Centres and the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL). The vacancy distribution includes 99 posts in Electronics, 52 in Mechanical, and 21 in Computer Science at ISRO Centres, with one additional post in each discipline at PRL. ISRO has noted that these numbers are provisional and subject to change.

Eligibility and Age Criteria

Applicants must hold a BE/BTech or equivalent degree in the relevant field. The required aggregate is at least 65% marks or a CGPA of 6.84 on a 10-point scale. The degree must have been completed within the standard duration prescribed by the university.

Candidates must be 28 years of age as of September 16, 2026. Age relaxation is available for serving Central Government civilian employees, ex-servicemen, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, in accordance with Government of India norms. Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.

Application Process and Fees

The online application window opens on August 27, 2026, and closes on September 16, 2026, at 11:55 PM. A non-refundable application fee of Rs 250 is applicable, but all candidates must initially pay a processing fee of Rs 750. Payments can be made online via the Bharatkosh e-Payment gateway using Internet Banking, UPI, or domestic Debit Cards. Cash, cheques, demand drafts, and other offline modes will not be accepted.

Women, SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempt from the application fee and will receive a full refund of the processing fee if they appear for the Written Test/CBT.

Pay and Appointment

Selected candidates will be appointed at Level 10 of the Pay Matrix, with a minimum basic pay of Rs 56,100 per month.
