Jagan seeks CBI probe into DSC-2025 recruitment, alleges social media censorship

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has intensified his attack on the TDP-led coalition government over the alleged DSC-2025 recruitment irregularities, demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the matter.

In a social media post, Mr. Reddy claimed that fresh evidence emerging from across the state was exposing serious irregularities in the recruitment process. He asserted that the government was avoiding an independent probe and instead attempting to suppress dissent by restricting or geo-blocking social media posts and accounts belonging to opposition parties, media platforms, and activists on Meta-owned platforms like Facebook and Instagram.

Mr. Reddy argued that such actions amount to censorship and violate the constitutional right to freedom of speech and expression. He maintained that no government has the authority to muzzle the opposition, media, or citizens merely because their questions are politically inconvenient.

Challenging Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to substantiate his claims on the recruitment, Mr. Reddy demanded the immediate restoration of all restricted content. He also called on Human Resource Development Minister Nara Lokesh to take responsibility for the alleged irregularities and resign.

Separately, the YSRCP organized a 'Guru Parirakshna Deeksha' at its central office to support teachers' rights and protest the alleged malpractices. YSRCP Parliamentary Party leader Y.V. Subba Reddy highlighted that the most glaring issues included candidates securing jobs with fake certificates and wrongful reservation claims. Several party leaders and former ministers were present at the protest.
