Jharkhand BJP to launch four-day statewide stir from Sept 8 over student cases
Jharkhand BJP will hold a four-day statewide protest from Sept 8-11 demanding withdrawal of police cases against students over recruitment exam irregularities.
The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jharkhand is set to launch a four-day statewide agitation from September 8, pressing for the withdrawal of police cases registered against students who protested alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).
State General Secretary Amar Kumar Bauri announced on Monday that the protest will include demonstrations and gheraos of Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Superintendent of Police (SP) offices across 24 district headquarters, scheduled between September 8 and 11.
According to the party's plan, specific leaders have been assigned to lead the movement in different districts, following directives from State President Aditya Sahu. The schedule includes senior leaders such as Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi, former Chief Ministers Raghubar Das and Madhu Koda, and Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, who will participate in protests across various locations over the four days.
District-wise coordinators have also been appointed to manage the programmes. The agitation will cover different sets of districts each day, with the first day focusing on Ranchi, Dumka, Hazaribagh, Giridih, Jamshedpur, and Garhwa, followed by other districts on subsequent days.
The decision to launch the agitation follows an ultimatum issued by a BJP delegation to the state government through the Chief Secretary, demanding the withdrawal of cases against students. The party claims the government has remained silent on the matter, prompting the statewide protest plan.
