Jharkhand CID Arrests Three More Candidates in JSSC-CGL 2023 Exam Case

The Jharkhand Criminal Investigation Department has arrested three more candidates in connection with alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level examination-2023, an official said on Sunday.

The three arrested candidates were identified as Ajay Kumar, a resident of Koderma district, and Sanjay Kumar and Ramakrishna Kumar Singh, both from Giridih district.

In a statement, the CID said the candidates had obtained unfair advantages in the JSSC-CGL examination. With these arrests, the total number of people apprehended in the case has reached 19.

The investigation follows a sustained wave of protests by job aspirants that began on July 25, with demonstrators demanding the cancellation of examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission, along with a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities.

On August 18, the State government announced the cancellation of several recruitment examinations, including the JSSC-CGL-2023, after which the aspirants withdrew their agitation.

The Jharkhand High Court subsequently stayed the government's decision, acting on a petition filed by candidates who had cleared the examination.
