Jharkhand CNG Station Worker Dies After Refuelling Hose Bursts

A 24-year-old employee of a CNG station in Jharkhand's Jamshedpur district died on the night of August 27 after a refuelling hose burst and its nozzle struck him on the head. The victim has been identified as Tushar Khamri.

The incident occurred at around 10:40 pm at the RK Jain Bharat Petroleum pump on the Sakchi-Kalimati road. CCTV footage from the location captured the sequence of events, which unfolded while a vehicle was being refuelled.

According to available information, the CNG pipe suddenly burst during the refuelling process. The rupture caused a gas leak, creating panic at the pump. People present at the scene abandoned their vehicles and fled the area as the gas escaped.

Khamri sustained serious injuries in the incident. His fellow employees rushed him to a hospital for treatment, but he died during treatment.

Following the incident, police and officials from the concerned department initiated an investigation. Authorities are examining the cause of the pipe burst and are looking into whether any negligence contributed to the accident. Further details are awaited.
