Jharkhand: Father Alleges 13-Year-Old Daughter Gang-Raped in Gumla, FIR Filed
A Gumla man has alleged his 13-year-old daughter was gang-raped and beaten; an FIR is registered and the girl is at RIMS Ranchi.
A man in Jharkhand's Gumla district has alleged that his 13-year-old daughter was gang-raped and severely beaten by a group of men, police said on Saturday.
According to the complaint, the girl was found lying unconscious outside her home on Thursday night. The father has alleged that she was gang-raped and beaten mercilessly. He did not specify how many people were involved in the alleged attack.
An FIR was registered at Palkot police station on Friday based on the complaint. The girl has been admitted to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi for specialised medical care.
Palkot police station in-charge Ankit Raj said a police team has been sent to RIMS to obtain the girl's medical report. "Rape can only be confirmed after the medical report is received," he said.
The father told police that the girl was first taken to Simdega Sadar Hospital, where doctors referred her to Gumla. From Gumla's Sadar Hospital, she was referred to RIMS in Ranchi.
Police said they have launched an investigation into the case.
