JioHotstar Goes Global: OTT Platform Debuts in UK, Canada, Singapore
JioHotstar launches in UK, Canada, Singapore with 160,000+ hours of content, interactive features, and new originals.
Indian streaming platform JioHotstar has made its international debut, launching in the United Kingdom, Canada, and Singapore. The expansion brings the service's extensive content library and product experience to audiences in these three markets.
The platform offers over 160,000 hours of entertainment across more than 12 Asian languages. Alongside the vast catalog, JioHotstar introduces interactive features, personalized recommendations, and new subscription options tailored for international viewers.
This launch is not just a straightforward catalog rollout. The company has redesigned the discovery and viewing experience, focusing on personalization and real-time engagement. The service, previously available in these regions as Hotstar, now arrives as an all-new app carrying the full JioHotstar India experience.
JioStar is also unveiling a slate of original shows, including "Ali Baba Aur Chaalis Bhoot," "Prince of Mollywood," "Part Timers," and "The Court," along with blockbuster movie premieres scheduled throughout the year.
However, the Indian Premier League (IPL) and other cricket competitions for which JioStar holds Indian rights will not be part of the initial launch package.
For fans of the reality franchise "Bigg Boss," the new markets will see the show return in six languages. For the first time, viewers in Singapore, Canada, and the UK can cast live votes during each edition. Additionally, viewers in Canada and the UK will have access to a 24/7 live feed, and Canadian audiences can watch "Bigg Boss Hindi" seven days before its television broadcast.
