Jamia Millia Islamia Approves One-Year PG Programmes in 13 Disciplines
JMI has approved one-year postgraduate programmes in 13 disciplines via ODL and online modes for 2026-27, including MA, MBA and MCom courses.
Jamia Millia Islamia has approved the launch of one-year postgraduate programmes in 13 disciplines through the open and distance learning and online learning modes for the academic year 2026-27.
The approved courses include Master of Arts, Masters of Business Administration and Masters of Commerce programmes, covering subjects across the humanities, social sciences, education and management.
The one-year MA will be offered in 11 disciplines: Education, English, Geography, Hindi, History, Human Resource Management, Islamic Studies, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology and Urdu. The remaining two programmes fall in the business and management stream.
The decision is in keeping with the provisions of the National Education Policy 2020 and the applicable regulations of the University Grants Commission.
The programmes will be delivered through the university's Centre of Distance and Online Education. The approval was issued by Registrar Md Mahtab Alam Rizvi on behalf of the Academic Council, also known as Majlis-i-Talimi, according to the university's office order.
The order states that the action taken by the Vice-Chancellor will be placed before the Academic Council at its next meeting. Deans, directors, heads of departments and other concerned officials have been directed to take note of the decision, while the director of the Centre of Distance and Online Education has been asked to initiate the necessary steps for implementation.
