Juanes Marks 51 Latin Grammy Nods With Biggest U.S. Tour, Colombia Relief Drive
Juanes has earned two more Latin Grammy nominations for his album 'JuanesTeban' and the song 'Humano', bringing his career total to 51.
Colombian recording artist Juanes is celebrating a career milestone alongside his most ambitious North American tour yet, with two new Latin Grammy nominations for his latest album, "JuanesTeban", and its song "Humano".
The nominations bring his career total to 51. Speaking ahead of a concert at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, on September 18, he said recognition has become harder to earn as new generations of musicians emerge.
"Every time it's even harder to be nominated because there's different people, young people, a lot of artists, new music," he said. "So for me just to get nominated again with this album means a lot to me."
He described "JuanesTeban" as a personal record drawing on the full range of his life. "This new album is everything that I have through my life," he said. "The good things, the bad things."
The singer said "Humano" blends Andean influences, including bambuco and chacarera, and reflects on human connection in a digital age.
"We live all the time just in the screen of the phone and seeing the world through that little screen," he said. "We forget about the essence and the basic real things, which is the human side of being alive."
Juanes is also marking 25 years as a solo artist with what he called his biggest U.S. tour, part of a wider North American run that includes cities he had not previously played, among them Nashville.
"This is the first time we are going to 30 cities in the United States," he said. "For me, it's like the biggest tour ever I have in United States."
Beyond music, Juanes is helping lead Marea Viva, por el Chocó de mañana, a fundraising and reconstruction campaign launched in August by his Fundación Mi Sangre and other organisations after the August 10 earthquake in Colombia.
The initiative is seeking at least 15 billion Colombian pesos, about $5 million, in additional funding. Together with 10 billion pesos already raised, its overall target is 25 billion pesos, or roughly $8 million.
The Juanes World Tour 2026 is set to close with two homecoming concerts at Bogotá's Movistar Arena on November 19 and 20.
