Sri Lanka's ruling JVP sends five-member team to India for BJP talks
A five-member JVP delegation led by Tilvin Silva will visit India from September 27 to October 1, 2026, to meet BJP leaders and the External Affairs Minister.
A five-member delegation from Sri Lanka's ruling Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) will travel to India for a five-day visit beginning September 27, 2026, with the trip running through October 1.
The team is headed by JVP general secretary Tilvin Silva. It also includes central committee member Chandrika Adikari, Member of Parliament Aboobucker Athambawa, district committee member Kabilan Suntharamoorthy, and Kalpana Madhubhashini of the party's international department.
According to Vijay Chauthaiwale, who is in charge of the BJP's foreign affairs department, the visiting delegation is scheduled to meet BJP national president Nitin Nabin, national general secretary (organisation) B.L. Santhosh, and other senior leaders of the party. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta are also on the engagement list.
Beyond these meetings, the delegation will interact with leaders of various BJP morchas and departments at the party headquarters, tour Parliament, and visit the BJP's Delhi state office.
Mr. Chauthaiwale said the visit is intended to strengthen engagement between the BJP and the JVP, allow both sides to exchange organisational experiences, and deepen ties between the two political parties.
