Kandukur Police Seize 11 kg Hashish Oil Worth ₹1.5 Crore, Three Held

Police in Kandukur have seized 11 kg of hashish oil valued at approximately ₹1.50 crore and arrested three men who were allegedly transporting the contraband to Hyderabad from Lambasingi in Andhra Pradesh.

The accused were identified as Morupoju Ravi Varma, 27, Jarpula Lokesh, 26, and Syed Sohail Hussain, 27. A team from the Special Operations Team (SOT), Maheshwaram Zone, along with Kandukur police, intercepted the Maruti Swift car in which they were travelling near Navaru Balreddy Function Hall on the Srisailam Highway during a vehicle check on Friday morning.

A search of the vehicle yielded 11 transparent packets containing a black-coloured substance suspected to be hashish oil. The police seized the contraband, two mobile phones and the car bearing registration number TS 07 HT 6393.

Investigators said the trio had travelled towards Hyderabad via Lambasingi, Khammam, Miryalaguda, Devarakonda, Kalwakurthy and Kandukur. According to the police, Ravi Varma, who was previously involved in a Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act case among other cases, came into contact with a supplier known as “Bunny”, a resident of Lambasingi.

Ravi Varma, along with Lokesh and Sohail Hussain, allegedly travelled to Lambasingi in a self-drive car hired from Kothapet and procured the hashish oil by paying about ₹9.5 lakh. The three allegedly brought the contraband to Hyderabad for sale to consumers at Secunderabad railway station.

Police said the accused travelled through several interior routes, avoiding main roads in an attempt to evade checking. A case has been registered at Kandukur police station under the NDPS Act.
