Kannada Film Personalities to Join Mysuru Dasara Jamboo Savari

Kannada film stars and sportspersons will participate in the Mysuru Dasara Jamboo Savari, riding an Ambaari bus and later watching from the palace gallery.

Prominent figures from the Kannada film industry will take part in the Jamboo Savari, the grand procession marking the finale of Mysuru Dasara in October. Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy confirmed the participation after a meeting with industry representatives at the Zilla Panchayat office on September 9.

The decision follows the Karnataka Chief Minister's wish to include leading actors, actresses, and artistes, along with accomplished sportspersons, in the Vijayadashami procession. The participants will travel in an 'Ambaari' bus from the palace to K.R. Circle, after which they will be escorted back to the palace to watch the remainder of the event from the gallery.

Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) president Jayamala announced that a tableau will showcase the 93-year journey of the Kannada film industry. Around 30 prominent actors and actresses are expected to walk roughly a kilometre as part of the procession before taking their seats in the palace gallery.

During the meeting, former KFCC president Sa.Ra. Govindu suggested felicitating film personalities during Dasara and proposed an exhibition on the industry's history and evolution. 'Rockline' Venkatesh, president of the Film Artistes' Association, requested accommodation arrangements for the visiting artistes.

Officials including Police Commissioner Seema Latkar, SIIRD Director Sheikh Tanveer Asif, and Superintendent of Police Mallikarjun Baladandi attended the meeting alongside film industry members and departmental officers.
