Kanthapuram Vows to Uphold Shariat Laws Amid Opposition

Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobacker Musliar asserts unwavering defence of Shariat laws and announces district conferences for Samastha's centenary.

Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobacker Musliar, a prominent Sunni religious leader in Kerala, has declared that Islamic Shariat laws will be defended regardless of who opposes them. The statement underscores the community's firm stance on religious legal principles amid ongoing public discourse.

Speaking on the occasion, Musliar also outlined plans to organise Shariat conferences in every district of the state. These gatherings are part of the centenary celebrations of the Samastha Kerala Jem-iyyathul Ulama, one of the largest Sunni scholarly bodies in the region.

The leader expressed confidence that discussions and advocacy around Islamic laws would persist indefinitely. He asserted that there will always be voices engaging with the subject, signalling the community's long-term commitment to the cause.

The announcement comes at a time when debates over personal law and religious practices continue to surface in public and political spheres. The planned conferences are expected to reinforce the organisation's position and mobilise support across Kerala.
