Karan Aujla lands in Australia for rescheduled tour after visa hurdle cleared
Punjabi star Karan Aujla arrives in Australia to a warm fan reception after his visa was approved, allowing the rescheduled tour to proceed.
Punjabi music sensation Karan Aujla has touched down in Australia to a rapturous welcome from fans, days after a visa delay threatened to derail his much-anticipated tour. The singer's arrival in Perth marks the start of a five-date run that will now open in Adelaide instead of Perth, which was postponed due to the visa issue.
Australian Assistant Minister for Citizenship, Customs and Multicultural Affairs Julian Hill welcomed Aujla's return, according to reports. The visa complication, which had left fans anxious, was resolved after promoter Live Nation confirmed that the Australian visa had been approved. Aujla had earlier apologised for the Perth postponement, noting he had never faced visa problems in any country, including during his previous Australian visit.
The delay reportedly stemmed from Australian immigration officials requesting additional evidence and flagging Aujla as a "person of interest." His representatives attributed the issue to mistaken identity, pointing to a person named Jaskaran Singh arrested in Ontario in May 2024 on extortion and firearm charges. Aujla's real name is Jaskaran Singh Aujla, but his team highlighted differences in age and circumstances. The singer resides in British Columbia, while the alleged offences occurred in Ontario. He had previously been granted an Australian visa in September 2024 and toured the country successfully in October and November of that year.
With the visa now in hand, Aujla is set to perform at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Afterpay Arena in Sydney, and the rescheduled Perth venue, bringing his P-Pop Culture World Tour to fans across the country.
