Karnataka CET Round 3: Option Entry Window Opens, Closes September 3
KEA opens option entry for CET third-round seat allotment. Fresh choices must be submitted by September 3, 6 PM.
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has opened the option entry portal for the third round of seat allotment for engineering and other CET courses. The link was made available on Monday evening, allowing eligible candidates to submit their preferences for the upcoming allotment.
Candidates who did not secure a seat in the second round, or those who cancelled their allotted seat after paying the prescribed penalty, can enter fresh options until 6 p.m. on September 3, according to KEA Executive Director H. Prasanna.
Separately, candidates who joined a college after the second round but wish to seek an upgrade can enter their options from 11 a.m. on September 2 until the same deadline of 6 p.m. on September 3.
KEA has clarified that all participants must enter their choices afresh for this round, as previously submitted options will not be carried forward. Once a seat is allotted in the third round, joining the assigned college is compulsory. Failure to do so will result in a penalty equal to five times the applicable fee. Candidates are therefore advised to select only those colleges and courses they genuinely wish to pursue.
Certain categories of candidates are not eligible for this round. Those who did not submit any choice after the second-round allotment, or who opted for Choice 4 in the second round, cannot participate. However, candidates who had entered options for medical courses may still be considered in the second-round medical counselling.
KEA has published the list of seats remaining after the second round on its official website. Candidates have been urged to review the available options carefully before finalising their choices.
